East Sussex WRAS is holding a Fox Rescue Day on Saturday 18th May. At 10am, 12noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm WRAS will be running presentations showing the charity works helping sick, injured and orphaned foxes and at the end of the presentation visitors will get to see one of WRAS’s Fox Cubs. Booking is required and entry is for a minimum donation of £5. Numbers are limited per session. The event is being held at WRAS’s Casualty Care Centre on the A22 at Whitesmith near Hailsham, Uckfield and Lewes. To book please call 01825-873003. Refreshments will be available too.

Of the 20 Conservative councillors left on the county council, nine of them are serving Wealden District councillors. Is this really good for local democracy? Can they genuinely do a good job serving two masters? Or are they doing it for the money. I am told a district councillor can claim up to £10,000 pa in expenses. Presumably a county councillor gets more.

As a director of Ovesco, I know that the vast majority of local opinion favours renewable energy generation; the negative opinions that the Sussex Express has published represent only their authors.

As you are aware the Conservative group on East Sussex County Council lost their overall majority in last week’s elections. Contrary to rumours currently circulating, I can confirm that there are no plans for UKIP to form a majority coalition block with the Conservatives on the council.
